Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
HELP!!!
Can ANYONE point me to an F40 wiring diagram! I'm building the Revell 1/12 kit and want to add a lot of engine wiring/plumbing detail but I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere!!! Anyone have any ideas other than buying the (expensive and unwanted) manuals? Roy - in hope! |

Try this http://www.eurospares.co.uk/index.as...=575&A=1&B=&S=
Just follow the drop down menus, might have what you're looking for. David |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
Many thanks for that but unfortunately there isn't a wiring diagram.....
I want to add some of the MASS of wiring in the engine bay but I can't locate any kind of info. I even downloaded the instructions for the Pocher 1/8 F40 thinking it might have some detail and was amazed to find how BASIC that model is! There's NO wiring or plumbing/pipework in the kit! It's just a GIANT toy! Roy. |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
I have those drawings printed out and I spent 20EUR on it. And apparently it's available for free.
I think they include all possible wiring and piping for the car. It's just not in one place. It's spread over different views. I'm not sure what else would you want ? Under "Caochwork" there are also all the body panels and frame parts. I think it is a great source. And there are many Ferraries, Lambos and Maseraties available there. |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
I've had a search through the pages but I can't find any real wiring info.
There's a basic page showing the spark plug and main ignition stuff, but nothing else. When you look in an F40 engine bay, there's a LOT of visible wiring. Some to the alternator, the starter, turbo's, main loom etc etc - I can't find reference for any of that stuff and I don't really want to add just random wires that go nowhere. Roy. |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
The Eurospares page has piping diagrams of all sort. You need to browse the individual part pages. They are all there.

Yes, you are right - lots of info on pipework and plumbing etc. But NO info on the main electrical wiring of the car apart from the basic ignition system. I've been through ALL the pages. Roy. |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
I am really curious to see what a really skilled modeller as u are will be able to make starting from f-ugly revell 1:12 f-40.
Had it, and imho was the most ugly looking F40 ever done in scale.Sold it and took a little more pricey Fujimi 1/12 metal kit at the time... If possible make a wip when u are ready to start

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
Apart from the lack of wiring info, I'm gathering lots of pics of the real cars.
I've found a few 'plans' of the F40 and I have to admit that apart from the undersize rear wheel arch, the model is pretty spot-on in all dimensions and shape. The panel 'corners' on the body are too sharp but that can be remedied with a file, wet/dry and a good rubbing down. The lack of the F40 name on the rear spoiler sides is a pain though. I've read the F40 spec on the Ferrari site and both front and rear wheels were 17" - the same size - NOT smaller on the front as is often stated. The rear tyre also has a LOWER profile than the front, effectively making the rear wheel SMALLER. However, it should be considerably wider. Tyres are: Front: 245-40 ZR 17 Rear: 335-35 ZR 17 The problem is that the kit wheels DO scale up to 17" !!!! They measure out at 37mm dia. which is a fraction too BIG! They should be 36mm...... Maybe the problem is the car sits too high up and needs to be lowered to get the wheels higher up into the body. I'll have to look into that one. Roy. |

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
With regards my message above -
I think I have the rear wheel issue sussed..... Yes, they are too narrow. Something I'll have to look at. BUT the wheel/tyre is the correct size, diameter wise. It's the wheel arch opening that is wrong. I held the rear tyre into the arch, and the arch is exactly the same shape/radius as the tyre. It should be considerably larger, leaving a clear visible space between the tyre and the body. Mind you, even though the Ferrari spec says the rear tyre is a lower profile, it does look as if they have their profile numbers the wrong way around. The rear looks bigger to me. Have a look below..... It should be a pretty easy 'fix'.

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
Roy, I am mostly referred to pics as this one. Quite clear, I think:
rv model: ![]() real one: ![]() picture angle is very similar, look at wheels and rear body part.

Re: Ferrari F40 wiring diagram needed
I can see that the kit rear seems to 'kick upwards' at the rear, where the real car goes up over the arch, then curves down again.
Not sure if I will be able to alter the kit that much, but I'll have a go.... Roy. |

That's an AMAZING website! I've added it to my favourites. Believe it or not though, there's not much F40 stuff there. The owners handbook does have some very useful diagrams though. Many thanks for that one! I've added a few pics of where I'm at so far. LOTS more plumbing/wiring to add...... Roy. ![]() ![]()

(17*25.4+18+18) / 12 = 38.983 mm or (17*25.4+17.5+17.5) / 12 = 38.90 mm ...which makes the kit wheel nearly 3 mm too small. |
