model scale question (NEWB ALERT)
I am currently building a 1/25th scale Revell 240Z. What I want to know is how much of a size difference is a 1/24th scale car model. Is the size difference really noticeable if a 1/25th and a 1/24th were compared side by side? I want to know this because there is alot of nice models out there only in 1/24th size and i want all my future models to be close to the same size as each other.

Welcome! There is a noticable difference, and it varies between companies, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Foreign companies like Tamiya, Fujimi and Aoshima have traditionally been 1/24, Revell has done some 1/24 but mostly 1/25 as well as AMT. There is almost no way to keep your collection all the same scale and still build all the cars you like.

Here is a comparison between Revell's 1/25 scale DC2 Acura Integra and Fujimi's 1/24 DC2 Integra JDM.
![]() When you put them side by side, the scale difference is noticeable, so some people place 1/25 scale car behind 1/24 scale car to create the depth of field effect. |

well some of my models are 1/24 and 1/25 and i really cant tell the difference that easily, some models are differnt though but all my 1/25 1/24 models are basically the same.

welcome to AF. you really should'bt bother between 1/25 and 1/24. the difference is not enought to make a difference.
it only really becomes weird when you going from 1/24 to 1/20, then the difference is big. |

Welcome, from another relatively new guy.
Generally the scales are pretty close, but as you can see in the pics posted above, there is a difference. I try not to use 1/25 pieces on a 1/24 kit just because they are a bit smaller and when it all goes together *I* see the difference. I have used 1/24 pieces on 1/25 kits and that looks OK to me. The pieces are a little 'bigger' in scale and seem to appeal to my eyes a bit more. I'd rather see a car with an oversized alternator instead of a teeny-tiny one that doesn't look right. Build em the way you like. Have fun!! Murray |
