2001 3.8 Impala LS idling issue
About 2 years ago I started having sensors go out. I replaced them as the check engine light came on notifying me of which one. Then I started noticing the car would just die as I was driving, so I replaced the crankshaft position sensor. Now that is fixed and it runs as long as my foot is on the gas. It now dies while idling... it's not consistent and it's doesn't matter if it's immediately after start or after driving a while. It's so random that I have no way of describing any better than that.
Some people have said change the Throttle position sensor others have said to check the voltage coming in and out of it. Now I'm reading stuff concerning the ignition. I've paid over and over again and had it in and out of shops. I'm a little over all the testing. I'd like to know if anyone has had THIS exact issue with this exact model car and fixed it. I am also hearing people have change the MAF.... Need advice QUICK please  Thanks so much!!!!! Laurie

Does it restart right away?
There are a number of things that can cause this problem......one that I would look into, if no codes are set, is cleaning the throttle plate and bore, and also removing the IAC valve and cleaning the pintle and it's mating passageway...... Other possibilities are a dirty/bad MAF sensor, bad O2 sensor, wire harness, fuel filter, etc. I would clean the items in the first paragraph, if there are no codes....
