Clutch Slave

Greetings .... I'm replacing my hydraulic clutch slave again; number 4 over the last few years ... Has anyone traveled this path & discovered a better solution ... I've installed the so-called up graded "O" ring after the second time , but ... Thanks for your insight(s) Paul Winship / Duluth , MN

Re: Clutch Slave

I do know that if one has the bad habit of resting their foot on the clutch pedal constantly it will keep pressure on the cylinder and short live it. Just sayin'.

Re: Clutch Slave

Throw that entire system in the trash! I have several new willwood slaves if you want spares. Go with a hydraulic throughout and a triple disc tilton or quartermaster that you can buy on ebay used from nascar guys.

Re: Clutch Slave

The external slave is unreliable and not suitable for use. As Brian said go with the hydraulic t/o bearing (ie slave and t/o are one unit inside the bell housing). This has been Panoz standard upgrade for several years. I think it is make by Quatermaster as well. We use the QM (8.5") spec clutch and t/o bearing. You can get from Panoz or QM (they will know the #).

It is pretty a pretty complicated PIA to get it set up right as clearance shimms require removal of the engine to re adjust.... so go through the directions and do it right the first or 4th time...

Re: Clutch Slave

I use a Mcloed hydraulic TO. It works great for years. PIA to setup. I remove the tranny to adjust. A bunch of measurements and your done. Follow the instructions.
