99 Silverado Window Issue
Put my window down today heard something break I was able to get window back up. Don't know what I am in for when I start taking this apart. Any advice I would appreciate. It is the drivers door. Thanks

Replaced regulator good video at 1a auto. It seems to go up slow cant figure it out but it appears to be operating correctly not binding up I did grease the cables and slides. I will see what happens.

I'd use a lithium grease on the cable but only silicone spray on the door tracks. Other grases will mix with dirt in the tracks or swell rubber parts and put a drag on the glass. Check to see if the glass has excess lateral play in the tracks, (move the glass fore and aft). That would indicate wear of other parts or an adjustment needed.

I forgot to mention to use silicone spray on the rubber guides. since you replaced the complete assy the only resistance created would be the rubber parts . I spray all these rubber gaskets/seals every year with the silicone spray . wipe off excess after 30 min. let it get absorbed. over time if not too harded it should soften the rubber and seal/slide easier. |
