Wink Ford Explorer

I'm thinking of buying a newer Explorer, 2007-8-9. Any one have any thoughts on them? I'm a longtime member of the Windstar forum

Re: Ford Explorer

The newest I've owned is a 2004 (had a 2004 Mountaineer V8, now a 2004 Aviator). My brother had a 2003 Explorer V8. We've really had no major issues with any of them. I'm more picky about maintenance, my brother is good about changing the oil, but that's pretty much it.

Like so many other vehicles, the best suggestion would probably be to find one that's been well maintained. You may be able to determine this without maintenance records by carefully looking over the vehicle to see if it's been kept pretty clean. You could also have a local shop check over vehicles you're thinking of purchasing.

I haven't read much about the 2007-2009 models so they probably are not having many issues yet.
