head aginst the wall

I have a 87 Monty has a 350 crate a mild cam 650 cfm holly and a 400 turbo trany starts fine idles fine put it in gear and dead less than 8k on motor and Trans no vacume leaks that i can find so any ideas

Get the car on a lift or the rear solidly on stands and you should be able to determine that.

Most likely a vaccuum leak, least likely a fuel problem. Although it is a Holly. Lutz still in a dry county? Haven't been there in a long time.

No hasnt been that way for a few years we just got a liquor store bout a month ago but im gonna try a few tests and se what happens i will let ya know how it turns out thank fellas.

So I checked all my vacuums I have 3 vacuums 1 brake booster want to the advanced timing want to the transmission all becuz are pulling 17 except the vacuum on my idle mixture place it doesn't pull anything until the engine is reved and that vacuum is connected to my transmission could this be my issue

the vaccum line to transmission with this much older 400 type should have normal engine vacuum to it . this will create downshifting.

the ported vac line [vac when throttle is opened] goes to the distributor vac advance.

if the engine stalls when placed in gear this may mean the torque converter is bad or other transmission issues.

this is not an OEM AS BUILT VEHICLE. so your not going to get any exact answers.
