Beating my head against a wall...
Ok, I need advice. My '97 T-Bird keeps dying on me when the engine is cold but if I get it running long enough, it runs just fine. My first thoughts were that the car just didn't like the cold weather we're suffereing from up here in New England but I'm not sure if that's actually the problem. I've had recent problems with and replaced an O2 sensor and the crankshaft sensor along with an oil change in where it was explained to me that they used some kind of "engine cleaner" before they put the new oil in. Somehow the engine runs fine once its heated up but I can't get anything out of it while its cold and it even goes as far as cutting out on me while I'm driving down the street. Anyone? Any ideas? |

Yeah...my first thought too would be the O2 sensors, is your maf clean? how old are the plugs and wires? possibility they're worn out too....Does it take awhile to start up? Like does it turn over a few times before starting up?

It sounds to me like it could be either the IAC idle air control module, or the TPS throttle position sensor. Both are simple to replace and not that expensive through auto zone or advanced auto

Have your codes checked to give you an idea what needs to be repaired.
