Question Fuse Panel Box Blew Up!!!!

The pulse (+) side of alternator supply line melted my Fuse Box/top of battery. I took some picks for every one to see . . . What do you think could cause this to happen

you can see the wire insulation distorted from the heat

I am afraid to get a new box only for it to melt like this again . . . .

Re: Fuse Panel Box Blew Up!!!!

There is a severe electrical short in that wire that got burned-off. Either the wire, a connector or the alternator is defective.

I would first suspect that wire is shorting -out to ground either by a defective terminal or damaged insulation. So start tracing that wire and correct the short beofore replacing the fuse box.
