Question Anyone? - driver information center displays on and off

'99 Montana van, 13 years old now, with over 225,000 Kms.

Just recently during cooler weather, the driver information center stopped displaying; not all the time, but it seems to be either humidity related or temperature related. Once the van is fully warmed up, the display returns. Sometimes pressing the mode switch will cause it to light up and stay on for the entire trip.

It is working the entire time, albeit in 'blank' mode (meaning the display is gathering, calculating accumulating data, it just doesn't display as it used to every time the engine is started).

I'm sure this is either an LED or LCD display, so there are not bulbs to replace. I know it works off the panel light dimmer. It could be a wiring connection up in the headliner, or is it just worn out?

Anyone else experience this or have suggestions?

Hey, this van is super! It just healed itself.

DIC is working fine now. Could have been moisture inside the cabin from a leak in the rear hatch that followed the slope of headliner; - who knows!
