Rebuilt Disco Engine Tips
I have a company called AffordableEngine.com that sells used engines and we recently had a long discussion with a very experienced Land Rover engine rebuilder about '00-'04 Discovery Engines. Here are the key parts of the discussion:
1. Use the newly designed timing cover for better oil circulation and pressure
2. Use the Land Rover oil filter because it has a "check valve" and your local oil change place won't have the right type.
3. Use 20/40 oil which again, you won't find at jiffy lube
4. Run premium fuel.
He said if you do all of these things you should be good to go...
