99 Bravada wont start
Cranks fine, good spark, 62psi fuel pressure at fuel rail, new plugs, wires.
When I changed the plugs most of them were soaked with gas. If you pump the fuel pedal it acts like it wants to start but won't. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
Is the Check Engine light on?
Does the fuel pressure stay up for a coupla minutes? Remove the air inlet cover on the throttle body. Pour a tablespoon of gasoline down the throttle body. Replace the air inlet cover. Try to start the engine. What did it do? |

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
I pulled a couple of plug wires one at a time, then I put another plug into the wire. It seems like it is firing fine.

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
If you have " good" spark and fuel it should start, someytthing is amiss of course, try a quick shot of starting fluid, post back.

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
Did it run before you changed the plugs and wires? Not trying to offend you just curious. If you're getting fuel and spark you may have a problem with the fuel injection or maybe it's flooded some how. You said it acts like it wants to start when you pump the gas, try holding the gas down while you try to start it. If it's flooded this will give you more air and should stop the flow of gas until it starts and you let your foot off the gas.

I agree. Just what I was thinkin. Pedal to the metal and crank the crap outta it, 'clear flood mode'. Worth a shot.

Or pull a plug and see if it is wet.

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
Yes it did run before I changed them, It ran for about two days after I changed them, the battery was low and I pulled it into the backyard and put the battery charger on it overnight. I did try the pedal to the metal thing but it just cranks and cranks. I pulled one of the plugs and it was soaked it gas.. I appreciate your help.

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
You don't think it might have anything to do with passlock do you? When it was running, the security light would flash after I turned the motor off and continue flashing for about ten minutes. Even after I removed the keys and shut the door. It ran fine though.

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
Wet with gasoline/you might smell the plugs to be sure, means there's ample fuel.
A spark may be present but it may quit firing under compression when the ignition coil starts failing. Cylinder misfire at WOT & high rpm usually indicates a failing ignition coil. Did you ever get that with your A990 426 Max Wedge race car Maxwedge? Was this condition present prior to the present problem oak2001raid? |

Re: 99 Bravada wont start
yes it was wet with gas, I did smell it. It was missing a little bit before I changed the plugs, that's why I changed them. It did run fine for a day or two before this happened. I didn't put AC Delco plugs in tho. I am gonna pick up a set of those tomorrow and try that.
