Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
Wife's key fob quit working. Messed with it a bit and replaced battery but still nothing. Ordered a new one on Ebay and was looking at the instructions for programing after i receive the new fob. Decided i would try to program the nonworking fob hoping it would work again. Went to jump wires 4&8 but those blocks are empty. The ones i have connected are
1 3 9 12 13 15 If top left is 1 and lower right is 16 just like the diagram shows. I have searched through older posts but no luck. Any help will be appreciated |

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
The info I have says 8&4 also. You are SURE you're checking the correct connector cavaties? The connector has a slight "V" shape with the wider area, top left #1 and the smaller part of the "V" bottom right # 16.

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
my port is wider on the bottom, narrower on top. Unless you are standing on your head, lol. And yes, I used top left (skinny) as #1 and bottom right (wider) as # 16 to determine that #'s listed above are the ones with wires to them.

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
I think you are looking at the connector upside down.....#4 and #5 are grounds and #16 is bat......
Yeah, you are definitely looking at it upside down....I transposed your numbers....what you call 9, is actually 8, what you call 13 is actually 4.... Sometimes, the connectors are installed upside down....look at the outside edges.....they form a "V"......when the v points down it is correct, when it points upward, it is upside down... |

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
Thanks for the quick reply. You are correct. I jumped 4&8 while looking upside down and the doors locked when ignition was turned on. Key fob did not do anything so i will wait to get the new one in a few days and try it. I noticed earlier that 4&8 were wired if upside down but i thought to myself what are the chances of that. Now i know. This thread is on hold, but i'm sure i'll run into more snaggles. Like always, lots of helpful people here

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
Check your existing key fob for broken solder terminals on PC board. The clamp that holds the battery down, is notorious for breaking the connection on back side of the PC board. A mini solder iron and a dab of electrical solder can correct this problem.

Re: Trying to program key fob 99 PA Ultra
HotZ, the solder connections are broke ( 2 of 3 ) for the battery hold-down. I overlooked this cus i thought it just held the battery down against the board for a connection, which it is doing. Did not think the clip would cause it to not work so long as the battery is being held down to make contact with the board
