98`p71
4.6 sohc.
When i start up the engine(cold) Their is a loud clicking sound. And when it is doing this it looks like the belt is going to jump off the crank (Harmonic balancer)and the belt tensioner is jumping! ![]() Once the motor is warmed up it stops. The harmonic balancer is wobbling somewhat. Could the balancer be the problem? Thanks |

Re: 98`p71
It could definitely be a problem! If the harmonic dampener (these engines are internally balanced) fails, the belt will slip off, and who knows what can happen with a flying off harmonic dampener.
Replace it if necessary and use a brand new bolt since it is a one time use torque-to-yield bolt.

Re: 98`p71
Thanks for the reply.
I think that the crank pully is the problem. Thanks again |
