F1 roadcar colours
Hello,
Long time lurker here, really amazed by the info here, really amazing? Have not had a reason to ost anything here before, but a matter of paints interests me. In GranTurismo5 the F1 roadcar can be painted in manyncolours, most of which are known (in the f1 registry for examlpe), but there are a few that are not. I'm guessing the creators of GT 5 had close contact with the factory and all of those colours have indeed been used on F1s? Can't check right now, but from the top of my head the colours are ( I own one of each in the game ):Marlboro white - this colour hasn't been mentioned exactly, but i guess it's the correct name for one of the white ones Base silver - all clear Mercedes Brilliant silver - all clear Magnesium silver - all clear Platinum silver - no mention in the registry? There are several scale models available in this colour as well Historic orange - all clear Jet Black - all clear Carbon Black - i guess same as carbon? XP Dark green metallic - all clear |

Re: F1 roadcar colours
I think several of us are also amazed by the info here. I am continually impressed that for a car that ceased production 18 years ago, there is still so much to talk about. Thanks for joining us.
![]() It's hard to say what name has been given to every color applied to an F1. Certainly the original colors have been documented on the Chassis History Poster, but since then there have been some other colors done during resprays that could have taken the names you mention - hard to say? Here's the original list if you don't already have it: ![]() Click for a hi-res version Note: I have not corrected that document yet, but I have confirmed through a source at McLaren that the color names for chassis #029 and #039 were reversed somehow which was something we suspected here for quite a while. >8^) ER |

![]() The "Autocar" F1 book has a pic of some of the early standard colour plates for customer inspiration. One colour shown that appeals to me is an apple green, but no customer took up this option, perhaps it would look better on a road going GTR or LM

Re: F1 roadcar colours
Interesting topic
![]() I would like to know for the Marlboro white. The name could be used at the beginning of the history but not used by a customer. Is it possible ? |

Yeah - guess i need to polish my math skills a bit.
![]() I've shared that image here twice now. Sorry you have missed it. Despite its strong similarity to the original I made it from scratch without scanning anything. >8^) ER |

Re: F1 roadcar colours
Just like in real life, I can't tell the difference between the first three.

Re: F1 roadcar colours
If you mean how to take pictures, then you just pick the car from the garage and go to Photo Travel. Those photos are taken at Ahrweiler Castle. I just chose a location where I wouldn't have to move around, so I could get similar photos. In this location I just had to zoom in and focus. Did this 9 times, with 9 different cars.
