1994 stalling problem

Hi I have a 1994 marquis which stalls when you press on the accelerator. If you increase speed gradually it works fine but when you press to accelerate quickly it acts like it has no gas. Im thinking mass airflow but unsure as no check engine light on. Any help is always appreciated.

Re: 1994 stalling problem

Try cleaning the Mass Air Flow with some carb cleaner or something like that . I think they actually have a MAF cleaner in a can at the parts store. I've had mine get dirty before and the car will run rough, especially when cold.

Re: 1994 stalling problem

I agree with ___Brandon on this one.

We were getting an MIL Illumination on a 2002 Ferrari at my friend's garage. After pulling codes for Fuel/Air metering and finding the throttle bodies clean, we cleaned the MAF sensor hot wires with QD Electronic Cleaner and wooden cotton swabs. This solved our problem, might work for you as well.

I'd also suggest checking and cleaning the harness connection for the MAF. Everyone seems to be fond of aluminum contacts these days, and they love to corrode.
