fuse blown, no spark

i have a 2001 sebring lxi(3.0) v6. it recently shut off while driving and i concluded that there was no spark and my engine control fuse is blown. now i just need to know why that fuse keeps blowing. thanks for your help

A fuse will blow to protect electronic parts in the event of a short circuit.

Somewhere, something has gone wrong, either a break in the insulation, moisture, or a major fault is causing a short.

Have you done much electrical work before?

i have done a little and i think i am capable, just looking for a lead to shorten down time, i am just hoping it is not the distributor
