2001 Venture 138k 3.9. How difficult is it and what is the procedure for chaning the front idler pulley?

By "front" I assume you mean the lower idler. Either way, upper or lower, not too bad. Remove the belt, unbolt and replaced desired pull and reinstall belt.

Its pretty straight forward. It's a little tight, but it's an easy and relatively quick job.
