99 PA Rear Deck Speakers... Need some help

So here's the deal... I took out the rear deck speakers from my wife's 99 PA Ultra many years ago cus they were blown and sounded like crap. Did not expect it to take me nearly a decade to get around to replacing them, but it has. I bought some Kicker 6" speakers and an adapter plate for install under the rear deck.

The holes that are in the rear deck for installation are small, no threads, and are closed off so you can't possibly put a threaded clip in place to screw the speakers into the deck. The only thing i can think of was the speakers were held in with plastic push clips of some sort. I found one clip in the glove-box that seems like it might work, although it seems a little long.

Just wondering if someone with a PA could check their rear speakers for me and see how they are held up in the rear deck???? Does the pushpin look like the one below??? Where would i find replacement pushpins that are the correct size??

Thought about going to junkyard to see in person but it would be a long drive. Just thought someone here with a PA could help me out here. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure, but didn't those speakers have to be installed from above? Rear seats had to be pulled, the rear deck with speaker covers had to be removed, and the GM speakers had special retaining plate....looks like you will have to do some Mickey Mousing....

Re: 99 PA Rear Deck Speakers... Need some help

Alright guys, thanks for the reply's. I ended up doing a whole lot of googling and found the part # for this clip (GM Part 25641031) They were as cheap as $3.50 online and $9 through the dealer, yes that is per clip

Stopped by the junk yard Friday after work and got 6 of them for $1.80 cus that's all i had in my pocket and he did not wanna run a card for $5.

Put some cheap Kickers in her car and although i am not impressed with them, she is happy and i guess that is all that matters. I think the original speakers sounded better when they were good. Another project completed, but the list is never done...
