Revell Enzo...life sucks :(

Hey Guys,

I just "sorta" completed the Revell Enzo. I got this because it was $10, and it was worth just that much....

I'm not the best modeller out there, but this was seriously the worst model i have ever made. I really need to learn more about how to turn a bad kit into these amazing projects you guys do because you guys are amazing.

NONE of the parts fitted the car properly, including the body to the chassis. I'm not sure if i built it wrong, but i literally could not get the body on the chassis, and then connect the front bumper to the kit properly, without having to cut parts of the kit off!

But i guess it's finally done. I wanted to do a mirror chrome finish, but it didn't really turn out, but i was so disheartened by this kit that by the end, i just wanted it done.....

Here's the pictures. I am so embarassed and sad about the quality of my work, and so i thought i'd post this to get some updates and maybe some advice as to how i can be a better modeller? Let me know! Thanks

Re: Revell Enzo...life sucks :(

It does not look as bad as i imaganed when i read your post above the pics, it only looks like it has no clear coat on it, And it doesnt have windo trims on the doors, if you would add the windo trims it would make the whole apperance of the car a lot better, And what you can do with youre next project is a litle black stripe around the front headlampt. you just have to take a permenant black marker and paint the edges. Its not a big job but its worth it. + i think the side blinkers are missing. It not to put you all down its just to help you out with the next one!

O and PS The Revell enzo is defonatily one of the worst kits any one can buy these days in a lokal shop

I've heard the revell kit is rubbish

tho yours seamed to turn out pretty nice

do your self a favour and treat yourself to the tamiya enzo, it's far superior
but the engine cover does not quite fit correctly, but still a better kit overall

totally agreed!!..

Looks like this model have a lot of fitment problems and this is not your fault.. of course that we and when i say we i include you, can fix this with some patience and time... .

Honestly i like to finish cars.. even if is not as i expect .. cause this is the way you will learn ..

congrats for your car.

Don't be too depressed. Sometimes even the best modeller cannot work miracles on a poorly engineered kit.

Your build is not that bad. Being new to the hobby, you will learn as you go on.

I would say that some of the newer Revell kits are a vast improvement over the ones of the age of the Enzo kit, for example, I am building the Ferrari California kit and that is almost perfect. Tamiya kits usually have a knack of just building themselves.

You can make yourself a better modeler instantly....buy the Tamiya Enzo...there's a reason it costs more.

Perseverance is something that the Enzo taught. I have some IMC GT40 projects that are still trying to teach me!
