2000 Venture cooling fans

Can anyone tell me at what point the cooling fans are suppose to come on my 2000 Venture? Are both fans suppose to be on when the a/c is on? (I have one on!) When the temp gauge hit about the 3/4 mark one fan comes on. Are both fans suppose to come on at all times when called for or is it normal for just one to come on? Thanks!

One fan will come on with the AC, the other will come on when temp is around 235* or appx 3/4 guage.....

Re: 2000 Venture cooling fans

One fan is specifically for the a/c and one is specifically to cool the engine?

Re: 2000 Venture cooling fans

A friend came by tonight with his -00 and since I saw this question earlier I opened the hood and had a look at the fans. Temperature was at 90 degrees C according to ODB-II, AC was on and both fans were active.

Looking at the wiring diagram for the -00 it is theoretically possible for the PCM to activate only the left fan but not to only activate the right fan.

Re: 2000 Venture cooling fans

Both fans should run. For low speed operation the fans run in series. For high speed they run in parallel. If one fan is on, the other should be also. The PCM grounds the relays according to engine temp. and A/C operation. What side does not run? Left (driver) or right (passenger)?
