Hi, i have a 1996 Ford Thunderbird. I have a vibration when shifting from park to reverse and sometimes when it is in park. It does not do this in foward gears. I would like to know what might be the problem with my car. I hope that someone here can help me.

Re: Vibration 1996 Thunderbird
hey moppie i think its safe to assume its an auto
does it just vibrate when shifting?/or it vibrates in park/reverse could be a trans or engine mount

Re: Vibration 1996 Thunderbird
When i start the car sometimes it vibrates and sometimes it doesn't, also when i shift it from park to reverse it vibrates and then when i shift it to drive the vibration goes away. I would like to have an idea of what it might be. Thanks again for your help.

Re: Vibration 1996 Thunderbird
i would check the engine/trans mounts sounds like one could be weak/broken allowing the engine to move & making contact with something on the body. with the e-brake on & your foot on the brake put car in reverse & excellerate slowly to see if the mounts are broken or weak, you can also do this in drive.
