Question regarding resin and metal.

Hi ! I hope to get some answers to my questions..

the first question is about painting resin.. I have just bought my first resin-kit.. and I am wondering.. is there something special that needs to be done before the painting or do I do just like with plastic..? (I usually sand down the lines and wetsand the body before any painting is done).

And the second question is about a material.. I don´t know what you call this in english :P

But do you know any company that makes plasticsheets with this pattern or do you guys know a way do replicate it?

It's called triple diamond grid pattern.

Plastruct makes sheet styrene with double diamond grid, which is two lines in the pattern instead of three.

I don't think Plastruct makes triple diamond.

Thanks for the link ! But I can´t really figure it out.. it says 1/16 and what I am looking for is 1/24.. and there is something that says "0 scale"..?

I don't know if you'll find 1/24. HO, O and G scale are model train scales.

I have a sheet that I use for 1/24 but the package is gone and I don't remember which scale it is. It's diamond pattern, not double.

You may just have to take your best shot and get close.

Rickard, an easy and free way to replicate metal plates as in your pic is to use some cercling plastic stripes from around packages, they have the look needed to replicate anti-skid plates.
Every industry packing service usually use some, so it may be easy to get some from packages your receive or from someone having some in his area.

Veyron: Can you by any chance take a photo of the sheet next to a 1/24 car so I perhaps can see how big the pattern is?

Rallymaster: Do you have any example of this? I don´t really understand what you mean, I´m afraid..

I am planning to build a Scania firetruck and I need to do alot of the stuff using diamond-pattern.

Look for item CRMEP0089.
Haven't used it yet, so can't comment on the ease of working with this...

Alternatively Renaissance of France also has similar items on offer, although they're smaller in size and more expensive (compared to what I've paid for the CM version). They're called "LARMG" and "LARMP". I don't have any experience with these offerings, so can't really comment on them.

Hope you see what I meant now, it's not 100% accurate to the triple diamond texture but easily makes illusion.

I also use some for the safety belts.
