Red face 97 cavalier, lost power while driving

Our Cavalier lost power while driving- Rpms , We really wonder why as this has never happened before. Is drivable but scares us, I am thinking maybe fuel pump? Or plugs? ruined a perfectly good afternoon, pool party LOL

Re: 97 cavalier, lost power while driving

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable codes? Some of the national brand autostores used to check codes free. Use a gage and check fuel pressure.

If you have an intermittent rpm signal, it will drive you crazy. It will die like flipping a lite switch, all of a sudden, nothing. With a fuel issue, it will usually sputter before it stalls.
