torn off fuel line cover

what is everyone using to cover up the fuel line in the passenger side rear wheel well once they rip off their fuel line cover with 32's. is there a chance that the tires will tear open the fuel hose if not protected?

I know it costs $17.95 to replace it.

The fuel line is steel, so it shouldn't be a problem.
The little mounting tabs will get bent out of the way too.

i think what i'll do is to buy a piece of plastic or vinyl sheet and mold it to fit just to protect the line. i'll post a picture once i finish with it. thanks for the help.

You may just end up tearing that off too.
My cover got damaged last year, end when driving back from Moab, the front pin finally popped out and the cover dropped onto the tire.
By the time I stopped, it had burned a 4" hole through it.

The cover hangs down a good distance. I have yet to actually hit the fuel line with the tire now that it's gone.
