2F2F Skyline GTR34??

i got my SCC magazine and all the cars from 2F2F were all slow! the Skyline GTR34 with 3 NOS BOTTLES hit 14.1!!! And the Evo 7 hit 15.3!!! DUDE, a ricey integra can beat that Evo 7! but my point is that those cars are pretty damn slow....SLOW

That has to be full of shit, a stock straight from the factory GTR or EVO7 can all do faster times than that! I think thats full of shit.
Maybe that yank magazine has no idea how to launch a 4WD car.
Ie, rev the GTR to around 8000rpm and drop the clutch.
In WHEELS magazine a stock GTR 34 N1 (well it is an N1) did 12.7secs with half a tank of petrol, corrovit gear and two ppl in the car.
An EVO7 does about 13.5secs according to Best Motoring.

You should have taken the time to read the article...

The cars they were testing were the actual cars used in the movie, but most of the cars were already trashed or not tuned properly...

The NOS bottles in the Skyline were not even connected, they were just there for show...

Bottom line, the cars they tested were worst off than the stock cars that came off the assembly line...

you beat me to it...

those cars were beyond whooped on in all aspects, and most of them were stock... with a couple hundred pounds of added weight...

you're surprised they were slow?

Yeah i just watched a show not too long ago about the cars and they test ran them, the cars arent hookep up all the way and most of it was for just show. but i dont think that stock r34's run 12.7 sec quarter miles. i may be wrong because people here, (japanese) dont run quarter miles they run 100k, dont know if thats the same as 1/4 mil. but they usually run 13's.

I was talking about a R34 N1, as in with N1 turbos which stock have about 300RWHP (exactly 214RWKW as tested by MOTOR mag)(also thats a dyno dynamics power level so on a dyno jet it would be higher.).
MOTOR magazine in Australia tested it with corrovit gear so it must be right. Thats with 2 ppl in the car and half a tank of gas like they always do their tests.
But yeah, a normal R34 does around low to mid 13's.
And I have def seen EVO7's do 13.5 secs in best motoring VCD's.

Damn man, the film director should have some idea of street racing without riced out cars (and they should realise that this exists).

The N1 was simply a Skyline with toughter internals, and a steel turbo, to homologate the race car that took part (and probably won ), the Super Group N races.

A RWD GTR is just stupid - your just taking the technology away from the car, and the technology is what made the car what it is today.

except for the non awd skylines that aren't gtr's.

awd isn't god. attessa is a great awd setup however.

if you really want to get into it, most hardcore owners end up getting the hks torque splitter for hardcore launches so they put all the power to rear.

but hey... who am i...

regardless, the cars used for testing were beaten horribly by that point, and probably not the "originals", but rather some of the copies of the original cars.

the torque splitters are used more for burnouts, the HKS car runs full 4WD on its launches.
See when the RH9 cars do their burnouts, the guys pull their handbrakes up, that is the torque splitter, not a handbrake. They put it down again when they launch.

find me proof of that?

if you've got an awd car running drags, you want to burn all four.

the splitters are used, and can be dialed in any assortment of percentages to give lots/little tq front rear.

and yeah, they'd drag with all the tq to the back wheels. not awd.

sorry.

If you read the damn article, you would know that the cars weren't used for their performance, they were used for their looks... in fact, there were 3 or 4 other skylines that they used during filming of the movie for the crash sequences...

you can always edit the movie footage to make the cars look like they're going faster...

they should be better if not stock times especially with 3 nitrous bottles, theres no excuse of it being "beat to fuck" thats no excuse
but it's beat to fuck.

get over it.

does your car run as good as possible after you beat the shit out of it and don't tune it?

read to damn article before you try to rip on a car that would tear an srt4 a new asshole.

these 2 posts are by far the most lame, ignorant, and undisputedly incorrect posts i've ever read.

and don't think i'm trying to defend a car that's that lame.

the point is that the skyline and other cars tested were beat. and it was noted multiple times in the article.

go read it.

then find the factory 1/4 times for a skyline. don't try and say something stupid like "skylines are slow" b/c of one movie car.

no shit sherlock i know that, and you dont decide what people should and should not do here
when you're blatantly wrong and ignorant to other posts, you should be told what is correct. get over it. we're here to learn. you posted something that was obviously wrong... and you got told what was right.

and if you would open your eyes and go to the srt4 threads in the neon forum, who defends the shit out of that car?

oh yeah, that's me.
