1st gear poor acceleration

i have a 96 civic dx that is now hesitating in 1st gear only

Could be a lot of things, fuel filter, bad plugs....need to describe the problem better.

thanks for the reply. the car almost stalls out when accelerating in 1st gear...there doesn't seem to be any poor acceleration problems in any other gear. i will double check the filter and plugs.
