poor power on hill starts poor acceleration
Hello,
I have a 1996 1.3Liter 3 cylc. Geo metro.. Can barely get it to get going on hills and have to down shift on the freeway to stay with traffic on any type of hill..Pretty slow to accelerate but once it gets revved does pretty good.. Feels like a fuel flow problem All three cyclinders are firing, put a new fuel filter on it and cleaned up the carb. Any suggestions would be great.. |

Re: poor power on hill starts poor acceleration
I have a 95 Geo Metro LSI (I beleive) 3 cyl. 5 speed manual. And i always have to get her running in 3rd before i can shift to 4th otherwise i start losing speed about 2 mph every 4 secs and one of my buddies suggested that I replace my fuel filter cause it looks a little old...So Im not sure if that will help or not with our Geo's and getting them up the hills.
Reply to me or P.M. me if you get any help cause im in the same basket with ya!Thanks Alot!, Nicholas |

another thing to add
Also when starting it up, if it has been cold overnight it usually start right up( but you still need to hold the gas down for a bit to keep it going)..
If it has been warm overnight or is warm out at the time of starting then it is really hard to get it to start running...Starts but is barely running and you have to have it floored for about three minutes before it sounds like the whole engine kicks in and then will rev up... |
