2001 malibu wierd noise from dash
The dash makes a clicking sound at times. It sounds like the 4-way flasher.
We changed the flasher with one that works from a 1998 malibu but it still does it. I had to change about five bulbs when we got the car and for a while that stopped the noise. I read lots of threads here where almost everything was tried. My question? Is there a definite cause for this and what is the cure? Cheers Stripe

Fixed for now.
3 bolts on bottom #20 torx and/or 9/32 socket. 1 bolt same size on top. 3 wire connectors. I cleaned the brown grease out of the groves with micro screw-driver. hooked it back up. Tried it and clicking gone. About 20 minutes total and cost 0.00$ Cheers Stripe
