It losses the over drive every time and a code saying p1870 (no torque converter lock) And also this is a new transmission also instaled on the suburban Replaced old trans at 144,000 miles. Also it has the 454 motor and 4l80e trans. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a new trans. not used. So New as in never been used. The old trans finaly lost 1st gear after driving it for years with a bad firts gear and i decided to replace it with a new trans. Sence replacing the trans it keeps eating up torque converters.

debris in the radiator tranny cooler portion can contaiminate the new transmission / torque converter...also those lines.

the wiring to the transmission may have problems as well..

surprising how a new transmission can be failing in 200 miles with the contaminated radiator/lines...

who did you buy this NEW transmission from ? who built it ?

the old transmission lost first gear only , this could be the solenoid ...

more reports are stating that the use of chinese clone parts are causing many engine /transmission failures ...

Watch out for a pinched cooling line from the tranny swap. Maybe a smashed wire or something.
