2000 Impala Running Rough

Started my 2000 Impala this morning and was running very rough and the check engine light was flashing. The same thing happened again when I started it again in the afternoon. Thinking in might be the cat. Any other suggestions would be helpful...

Re: 2000 Impala Running Rough

I know this post is old, but the exact same happened to my car last night. The check engine light is flashing and the car is running a bit rough. I had a similar problem a few months ago only to find that one of the coil packs needed to change (but I don't remember the 'check engine' light flashing)... could it be that the other pack now has to change?

A scan will show which cylinders are misfiring.

I had that issue with my 2002 Impala. 2 of the 6 spark plugs failed. I changed the plugs and all was well. Well, they did have 151k miles on them. LoL.

If you don't have access to a code scanner, I believe Auto Zone will do it for free.

Re: 2000 Impala Running Rough

if u think it is the cat, take the ox sensor out, if it runs better more than likely the cat / exhaust is clogged
