Smudges!

The top 1 that I failed is 1233 & the 2nd one is 1133.

I spoke with the tech again and he said nox burn at higher temps and is caused when ur engine is worked harder due to runing hotter or timming maybe be off he said it could be more he was just trying to give me a hint of were to look!

Does any 1 else know what else I can do to tune it up better?

The tech is right, NOx forms under high temp, but there could be alot of things that causes it.

Does your car has mods, if so, what are they?

Is your engine running hotter than it suppose to?

You said you put in a new radiator, but is it's valume equal or higher than your original one?

You can try putting a lower temperture thermostat (always make sure it is a fail safe thermostat) and that may help to bring down the running temp.

If your engine has EGR, you should check to see if it's working also since the EGR has alot to do to cool down the cyclinder temp.

Does anyone here know if the 88 CRX Si has air injection into the cat?

PS. Was the car tested on the dyno when being smog?

Sad News!

Well I didnt pass, I poured in a bottle of the gauranteed to pass, set back my timing I faled again it only lowered me a little no enough to pass tho!

I will be trying to get a repar cost waiver wich will delay me smoging the car for up to 2 years but the catch is I must spent a minimum of $450 in a smoged licensed repair shop.

So more money to the spend!

Mr Gray Davis thanx for the new Dyno smog test's!

I passed the regular smog but not the new enhanced smog!

I found something that might help, its kinda like Guaranteed to Pass, but it has somg reports to prove it, heres the link

PureGas emissions test fuel catalyst

Problem is it comes in 55gal drums or a 5gal pail.
5gal pail sounds more realistic, and you have extra, so when your friends dont pass, you can charge them for the additive.

If it's gonna cost you a lot to get it fixed and you have a lot of mods (some of which may be illegal) just don't get it done. I mean the only way you really ever get pulled over for inspection is if you commit a moving traffic violation. Just be sure to watch out for charlie check points (sobriety stops) and you should be fine. I was pulled over once and if you aren't an ass the officer usually cuts you a break...just be friendly and weird and they won't even bother you (ask him if you can get a picture of you in hand cuffs and getting hit by a night stick or something funny). Mine is almost a year overdue and they don't give me any flak unless I am tearing around. My car won't pass because of the suspension work (technically you can't have anything on your car that wasn't put on at the factory, so my lowering springs and struts won't cut it). And I'll be damned if I'm going to put my old springs back on with 17's...my Accord would be a fuckin' truck.

Re: Smoged car didn't pass Knox

I'm having somewhat of the same problem, I tested 4 times and didn't pass. But I did get the Nox to go down from 1200 to 440. I used sea foam, to clean out the carbon build up in the combustion chamber.

This can be purchased at Napa for 6.99 I think.

Here's a link on how to use it:
http://diyimports.com/seafoam.html

Edit: You might want to replace the O2 sensor and cat.
