which size rim?

looking to get rims for the 99 GP. options are 18x9 5x114.3 38mm offset with 245/45/18, or 18x8 5x115 40mm offset with 245/45/18 tires. Will the 18x9s fit? not sure which ones would look better any opinions? thanks

Re: which size rim?

9 inches wide may be too much.

Re: which size rim?

I have some 17X9's 30mm offset I could try and take pics with if you really wanted. The tires are an inch too small though. They came off my Stealth.

Re: which size rim?

18 X 9 will not fit. The widest that you can go is 18 X 7.5

And just why would a 9" rim not fit. You can't make a statement like that and not give a reasoning.

Besides you are wrong about the 7.5's being the widest you can go. There are plenty of GP guys running 8" wide rims.

Re: which size rim?

I have 8 inch wide rims on my gp now. I have heard of nine inch wide rims fitting I'm just not sure about with that 38 mm offset.

Re: which size rim?

Its going to depend partly on the offset. All I know is that even the stock rims with stock size tires are getting close to the back strut lower spring mount.
