fuel & temp guages don't work

I just bought a 2004 2.2L. The Fuel and Temp. guages are pointing straight down. I checked fuses in dash, all are good. everything else seems to work. any ideas?

Re: fuel & temp guages don't work

i would guess the temp sensor is bad, or the ignition switch.

Re: fuel & temp guages don't work

There is a resistor in the dash cluster. I suspect it went bad. Some cars you can replace just the resistor on the printed circut but i think those ones you cant, sounds like you need a new dash cluster.
