Just installed a new timng belt and after I started her up it makes a sound like its rubbing against the cover. I made sure the belt was on correctly and would not rub against anything when I put it in.
This is my first DIY timing belt do they normaly make this type of noise? |

Re: 94 wagon timing belt noise.
When I did my '93 wagon it made a noise. It turns out the belt was a little too tight. Also, I took my cover off 10 years ago and threw it away.

Re: 94 wagon timing belt noise.
The tensions should be automatic- it is not adjustable.
If it is rubbing then the plastic cover is not mounted properly. Remove the cover to see where it is rubbing then remount the cover or leave it off. |

Re: 94 wagon timing belt noise.
sorry about taking forever to reply.
when I took it off I loosened the tensioner to much and it fell out. I thought there was a washer that went behind it because it was where the spring and slider was on the ground. I took it back off and removed the washer and now everything is good. The pully was rubbing the cover...lol |
