Code reading
A friend I work with has a 1998 DeVile, can some one tell me how to to get the check engine light to give me the code?

You are referring to a procedure that was available prior to 1996 prior to OBDII-- you can no longer do this procedure on 1996+ models. Go to Autozone or the like and have them read it for you for free and report back the code-- don't buy any of their parts until you understand how to diagnose it....the counter guys are NOT techs.....they sell parts....
