Anyone know of a good cost effective scantool thats obd 1 compatible?

I know a scan tool s required to test the digital egr on my 90 lumina but most part houses wont even talk to yuo if it has obd 1

Buy a PROFESSIONAL-GRADE scan tool, used, from craigslist or eBay or a pawn shop.

I chose the Snap-On MT (or even better, MTG) 2500 "red brick" scanner. They're cheap unless they've got the software for the newer vehicles. Top quality. Be sure the cartridges are set up for vehicles at least as new as what you're likely to use it on; and assure that you've got the vehicle connector cable for whatever you're working on--GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc.

There are other choices as well; and the older the vehicle, the more choices you have. OTC made good scan tools; as did Pro-Link and others.

You can piss around with "consumer grade" scan tools; I don't understand why folks bother when the REAL solution is the Pro stuff.

Ten trillion to start with, increasing as needed from there, PLUS compensation for the sickened, and "wrongful death" settlements for the families of those who didn't survive. END trade with Communist China.
