01 overheating

My friend has a 01 3.4 with 130k. Its been overheating and loosing coolent. We tried bleeding the system but all that cam out was smoke. It is not moving coolent through the engine... Is this a bad water pump?

Re: 01 overheating

Do not drive this van until a thorough inspection has been done.

Sounds like a blown head or intake manifold gasket.

Look closely for coolant leaks.

Does the oil have a pale brown color?

Check the bottom of the oil filler cap to see.

Once the coolant has seeped into the oil it doesn't take long to strip the lubricant from the crankshaft bearings and journals.
