Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

a 1:24 scale Porsche 914 is very good news to me.
ugly it may be but it's been very absent in the kit line up for too long.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

The Saxo and the Peugeot are really interesting to me, but I hope this brand has noticed all the differences between the WRC and the S1600 because converting the tam 206 WRC won't only need bumpers and wing but also a complete interior !!
Cn't wait for kits review !!

Revel made one in 1/25, but I think it's a 914/4.

It's a 914-6. Being 1/25 scale it looks pretty small.

It's also a pretty crude kit in some areas; with patience and a lot of work, it can be very nice. But OOB there are many fit issues, and the suspension setup makes it sit like an offroad vehicle.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

Aaarrgghhh!

I just got the first coat of primer on my 206 S1600. Like Phil said it's more than just bumpers. The doors are the only panels not modified and they have scratchbuilt mirroirs.

Their website says only 150 units and I suppose resin so maybe I haven't wasted my time afterall

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

Wow, Don, excellent work on yours !!
according to the sample pics, the brand hasn't noticed or made the inside conversion except the rear, a full transkit and its such item price range with a missing conversion dashboard will immediately decrease interest and relevance... If there still is a lot of conversion work to get a correct model, better do everything by oneself.
So Don, you're on the right way whatever happens and comes from this new brand !

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

Believe it or not, Phil, I've already been through that! I bought the CB-COM TK for the S1600 and it was really terrible. Just chunks of resin that are unuseable. And the decals don't fit either although they look good quality. I was really annoyed when I saw the parts because they are a company charging money and little old amateur me am able to do way better even if I have to say so. And don't start me on the wheels.... So this is more work than I'd planned on but hopefully turn out half way decent.

Good evening, we greatly appreciate all comments and constructive critic, and to help us improve future projects, hopefully they like.

We believe, who believe that our transkit if that shows all the possible variations between the version of the WRC and S1600, including the interior front and the dashboard.

Possibly in the pictures of the KIT, do not go all parts that the Transkit includes.

Still welcome any feedback to improve our future projects.

PS: Pugnuts, have you done a good job in its transformation, congratulations.

Re: New 1:24 brand - MM24-Models

So what can we understand ?? Did you make the S1600 dashboard or not ??

I'm sorry but I completely don't believe your argument "pic doesn't shopw everything..." What is the relevance of a transkit content picture if it isn't a complete view of the content ??

And what is your reference pic from ?? surely not from the 2002 early version of S1600 you're releasing, I follow the car during 2002 season on several events and I'm 99% sure there wasn't such a dashboard, it was a stock one converted with racing instruments...
I may have pictures of it, but still paper pics so not easy to share...

You're surely on the good way with your choices, but please don't think as many other brands do that modelers are only stupid checks-signers who haven't to think about what they build and give us complete accurate models !!
I will be the first to advertise your models if they deserve it !
(I already started sending back to people your email release notification)

One thing you should consider to increase interest, what some makers have well understand by the way, is to offer several possible rallies on the decals sheet.
I'm not sure that "rallye du Var" will excite everyone, but that car ran the Deutschland rallye in WRC event too for example !!

Anyway and whatever happens, I wish you good luck with your brands, and if I can help you by sharing references or ideas or critics, don't hesitate to ask my help or opinion.
I already have done it for other brands (mostly 1/43 kits makers) and it worse the time spent.
