96 k1500 eng change CEL with codes
I just replace the 5.7 ltr eng in my daughters truck with one from a 98 Tahoe. Have taken it to Autozone, Orielly and a local trans shop. All three place gave the same codes.
1. P1810 2. P0340 3. P0102 4. P0441 Is there a common link between any or all, where should i start and which one should I start with. Thanks |

Re: 96 k1500 eng change CEL with codes
P1810... Make sure MAP sensor is connected.
P0340... Make sure Camshaft position sensor is connected. P0102... Make sure Mass Air Flow sensor is connected. P0441... Make sure canister purge solenoid is connected. Make sure the pink wire at all of those sensors has battery voltage when the ignition is in the RUN position.

Re: 96 k1500 eng change CEL with codes
Todays engine swaps require more than just nuts & bolts. Way to many electronics and changes from '96 to '98. I agree with the old master that circuits need to be checked. And all ground hook-ups.
Since this is a different CKP (CranK Position sensor) the CKP variation relearn should be done. This requires a high end scan tool.

What about the ECU/CPU software going from 1996 to 1998 motor?
Doe's your computer need a reflash? How about Engine ground to fire wall? Check, clean, and use a little dielectric grease on MAF sensor conn , Cam sensor conn, Evap solenoid conn. Also check fuse + relays! DTC P1810 - TFP valve ''Transmission Fluid Pressure Valve'' |
