Venture common problems

Ok, everyone has heard them but I need some help.

1. I'm having problems with my transmission, if I don't go over 50, my van doesn't surge up hills, if I go over 50, it will surge like it's trying to shift and will only do it if I lightly press down the break pedal.

2. Um won't warm up quickly so I know that's the thermostat.

3. Need a new passenger side sliding door.

4. New sending unit for my gas gauge.

5. And a new muffler.

Can anyone help me out?

Sounds like you may have either low line pressure in the trans or burnt clutches, does your trans fluid appear to be full when hot? Does it smell burnt?

2. Um won't warm up quickly so I know that's the thermostat.

Either that or perhaps you are running rich, how long does it take to heat up? How far to drive? What speeds?

Junkyard. Whats wrong?

4. New sending unit for my gas gauge.

www.Rockauto.com about $30

5. And a new muffler.

Mufflers are cheap, go about anywhere.

Can anyone help me out?
Does that help?

Re: Venture common problems

1. Nothing smells burnt or anything, just it surges up hills.

2. it takes about 15 min to warm up, WHILE driving on the road.

If I start it and let it idle, it will hardly warm up at all.

3. it just has a big dent in it and I want to replace it lol.

4. Actually I don't need just the sending unit, I need the fuel pump too bleh.

5. Yea I'll pick up a muffler at a junkyard I was hoping that maybe someone had a spare one.
