2001 4x4 issue?
ok here is my symptom at about 55 mph+ I have a vibration beneath my feet. Seems to be coming from the transfeer case i have changed the lube and the switches seem to work ok from what i can tell however. Fluid was still blue in color. no trouble lights on the dash.

4wd is NOT to be used in any position on dry pavement ... all tires must be worn by the same amount .................. make sure you dont need a wheel balance. have the wheels balanced with stick on weights placed on the inner portion of the rim NOT ON THE OUTER EDGES................... VIBRATIONS have nothing to do with the switches or encoder/actuator motors... since it occurs at 55mph it is most likely tire issues/balancing.. |

Re: 2001 4x4 issue?
i just had new tires put on? also is the front drive shaft to turn while in park if you go beneath the truck? Also these are some used tires would that make the issue worse?

rotate the tires to the rear to see if it is the tires. front drive shaft may rotate or not rotate. this would have nothing to do with the vibration at 50mph. just to be sure that the vehicle does not have the front diff actuator stuck in the locked position lift the front wheel off the ground . if in 2wd the wheel should rotate. when in any 4wd position it should lock up . when in 4wd the front axle is locked by the locking actuator so that the axle is one solid connection to each front wheel. with tires of different sizes this damages the gear box/drivetrain.. since you have vibs at 50 mph it is most likely balancing of tires or a defective used tire. |

Re: 2001 4x4 issue?
on the front diff you have the locking actuator . this locks the front axle together as one.
the transfercase encoder connects the transmission to the front diff. |
