Vortec Heads
I heard that putting vortec heads would be a quick bolt on mod for my 350. What do people think of this? Is it really as simple as bolting them on? On another thread i read i sholud be looking for the 062 heads and NOT the 092. Some questions, if i did the swap do i have to use the vortec exhaust manifold? Will my Edlebrock performer intake fit on these heads or no?

Re: Vortec Heads
I don't know about the exhaust on these, but you certainly do have to replace the intake. The Vortec heads are a different beast. The intake runners are raised over the conventional heads, which along with the mounting bolt angle and water jacket design make them completely incompatible with the older style intakes.
From what I understand, they're an adaptation of the cast iron (Caprice) LT1 head to the conventional SBC, in terms of combustion chamber and runner design.
