Tamiya Enzo

Very complex kit and in the end it just frustrated me. The thing that annoyed me the most was how tight the tollerences were for the hinging doors. I painted it like an FXX but kept it still looking stock. The worst part was the wheel decals. I luckily got some more off Countach79 because I had to use eight of them to actually get four wheels with decals. I added a license plate and and painted the interior to match the exterior
Thanks,
F.C

Re: Tamiya Enzo

I suggest you should use spray cans instead of brush for the body, because now your Enzo looks like it was taking a part in a mud race.

Re: Tamiya Enzo

You did fine with a pretty difficult kit. You would definitely improve the final result if you tried using at least spray cans for the body. It is really hard to get good result with paint brush on big areas especially with a matt finish.

Re: Tamiya Enzo

Ignore the idiots on this forum who have nothing better to do than to make fun of the time and effort people have put into their kits.

Using a spray can or airbrush for large surfaces will massively improve the smoothness of the finish, but aside from that I think you've done a great job, and I'm not just saying that to make you feel better.

I think that the detail painting, especially on the engine is excellent and a lot neater than I could manage!

Keep it up!

Hi F.C

First things first - there are people that offer advice and there are people that just criticize. It's important to understand the difference but generally those that criticize don't offer any useful information that you can use in future builds (and they're a bit mean too!). The reason they don't offer advice is that they have not built anything nice themselves, so maybe they're a bit short of real experience. Remember that when you read some of these posts.

I like that you've given some clear thought to what you wanted to achieve with this build, and that you've taken the effort to explain that to us.

I also think that you should consider getting a nice (and not expensive) airbrush, because I think you're going to go a long way in this hobby and it's a good idea to use good tools. It will save you a lot of frustration but more importantly it will allow you to reveal more of that talent you clearly possess.

Keep going and keep showing!

True that spray cans work better, but sometimes finding a place to use them can be a problem. And if he wants to work on his brush skills who are we to stop him.

Anyway, I think it looks fine considering the approach. Not evryone here has agamo skills

Drift FC you keep building them as you want! Just try to learn and improve with every build. I have 4 enzo boxes and came up with 1 car , so I know its not an easy car to build.

Keep building bud

I agree, that is heaps better than kits I was putting together even twice your age. Keep it up Jarryd it's all about enjoying the hobby and I can tell you enjoy it. I also reckon the enzo looks pretty cool! Well done mate!

Yes, to tell everyone, I am only sixteen

The main problem with me on the airbrush and spraycan front is the money it costs to actually buy a spraycan for every build, or keep buying air cans or a compressor.

Right now, I am happy that I am finding that if you thin down the paint a fair bit, the brush strokes aren't as big. This is shown in a Renualt F1 car I hope to finish soon (School Comitments!)

Thankyou for all your comments, but if you don't have anything nice to say, please don't say it!

Thanks again,

F.C

Re: Tamiya Enzo

You have GREAT construction skills, this Enzo is a very difficult model and you've worked the doors, etc., flawlessly! I also really like the wheel and logo/scripting work, and the color scheme.

Re: Tamiya Enzo

Not to shabby, for one you should save all your money and buy a compressor since you have an airbrush. Best investment ever. When i first started building military i used an airbrush with propellent cans and have to say there wasnt a day without problems, but once i got a compressor the probs stopped. Also once you get a compressor the money you will spend on bottles of paint will be far less.

As for the enzo, you did a nice job. The two tone paint looks good, practice will only make you better. Good luck with your builds and don't forget the excellent tutorial section we have here.
