Funniest $H|T I've ever seen!

mods feel free to change the title to "Funniest **** I've ever seen!" if $H|T is too offensive..

anyway heres the story.

my friend cody has a 98 civic ex with body kit and turbo and a nos setup.. his car is sweet.

his car is in the shop right now getting new forged rods put in so hes driving his dads car, a geo metro, until its out of the shop.

hes driving in front and im following him, we're on this country rode where the speed limit is 35 and theres this '02 camaro SS driving the speed limit and we're in somewhat of a hurry to get where we're going in time so cody downshifts the metro 2 gears (4th to 2nd) and passes the camaro over a double yellow, it took him like 30 seconds to pass him. it was so funny, seeing a '02 camaro SS getting passed by a 1.0 Liter 3 cylinder Geo on 13" hubcaps wrapped in 155/60r13s ($80 for 4).

bzzzz... Nope... just 1 liter of raw power... or 61 cubic inches of pure muscle.

Now there was also a 1.3 or 1.4 liter 4 cylinder that was an option in the cars. It didnt make much of a difference... its still a geo and it still gets 600mpg.

It'd be a waste of gas for that SS to blow the doors off a Geo Metro. I woulda just went fast enough so the Geo couldn't pass. hahahaha

blowing the doors off a geo in a SS in a 1/4 mile race the SS could shift at 1500rpm in all gears. it could probably start out in 5th gear and win by the end of the 1/4 mile.

and in this occaison the SS could have just put on the gas very slightly and the geo would smell his fumes.. 5.7x bigger engine lol (by displacement.. 5.9x by horsepower).

Don't be so hasty to scorn the 3 cylinder. Turbo Sprints/Fireflies etc can be boosted to 15psi on the stock turbo very easily, and will have no problems pulling an Integra or SI.

The later Metros had the 1.3 4 cylinder, which is pretty much useless in it's stock guise, although you can get good power out of them with turbochargers...

Remember that a 1600lb car doesn't need all that much umph to get moving.

I have a 1988 turbo Firefly (Chev Sprint, Suzuki SA310, etc etc)

I've got it stripped down to 1540lbs and can run 20psi with a $2 fuel mod. The MK1s came with a cold start injector that you can rewire for use at high boost.

I blew the turbo as my manual boost controller popped off and it freewheeled to death, but that's beside the point.

It was just stupidly, retarded fast, especially for a Firefly.

Oh, and I'm on the island too I notice you had an FD?!? I have a modified '79 RX-7.

Bah!, a Camaro doesn't have anything on the Geo Metro (maybe on the Daihatsu Charade - but that's a horse of a different smell altogether)
3-cylinders aren't bad - don't forget that SAAB 96 sedans won the Monte Carlo rally a couple of time on 3-cylinders and no valves.
Geo - lots of fun to drive, and I say "lots" because it takes a long time to drive anywhere!
