Maxima rear brakes

I'm working on my rear brakes for first time and can't seem to figure out how to push the piston back in. They are discs but not anti-lock. Could it be the emergency brakes holding it ? I'm not familiar with how this system works. Any responses wopuld be greatly appreciated.

I assume you already have the pads off and the brakes apart.

You have to screw the piston back into the brake cylinder. The easiest way is to go to your local Autozone or whatever and purchase a brake adapter. (Looks like a cube with different pin configuration) attach this to your rachet and screw it clockwise back into the cylinder. Do go too fast or you might rip the rubber boot. Once you have moved it all the way in, you can back it out a little to get the rubber boot to unbind. :smoker2:

If you have no way to get this part (your car is without brakes at the moment) You could use some needle nose plyers but this is more time consuming.

PS don't forget to release the parking brake. This will make the job possible.
