new pics

finally had the photo session of my car today. it wasn't sunny but it was very nice photo taking weather.

i gotta find an ecu upgrade for this auto. i heard jim wolf is some good stuff. but i really dont want to put any more money into this thing besides wiring it with an electrical fan... this car stuff is addictive. ive got it to where i like the look and it runs good, so not one more penny is going into it besides maintenance. i gotta start saving for a house.

yea thanks. im not putting a body kit on it and everything is light weight in it for better speed. and i just dont like how any of the body kits look...

im thinking of a new spoiler, but i may go for that clean look and just rip off my current one.

the img in my sig probably doesnt reflect the correct drop because its parked on a curve on the street and the springs are adjusted to that :bandit:

since when are cars supposed to look SLAMMED? The lower you go the less suspension travel you have, what good is that? If you ask me, his car looks fine considering he is not running coilovers.

Run coilovers then lower it till you have no suspension travel. ha

yea i like how it looks now. i wouldnt have dropped it if 240's weren't so high stock, but they are, as you see in the "before" pic.

i wouldnt mind it a little lower but this is what the springs did. the only other way i can get it to look lower in the front is with bigger tires (as on the back), but i just got these so thats not gonna happen anytime within the next couple years.

i dont want it any lower to the ground really because of the crappy roads up here in ohio. and i still have to make it up my driveway, i have about another .5" to spare.

almost got coilvers but the springs are a better ride. i dont have 1200 to spend on real nice coilvers like tein.

There is a 240 HB down the road kinda like that. Ugly ass white paint with orange flames... It has the same thing done to the wheels... what a waste...

yea this one was white to. looked very ghetto... i just seen a shaved beretta painted bright green on the road. if i had a cam i would have taken a pic and submitted it to the car wall of shame.

Lowering a car excessively with springs alone is not good. The spring works hand-in-hand with the shock absorber, that is why you have to make sure to use a set that has been designed to work together. High performance shocks usually work well with lowering springs. However, you can only lower to certain extend before you lose suspension travel and you lose performance... trust me, riding on bump stops is NOT good.

The red 240SX with the over-fenders cannot be compared, the over-fenders can easily be mounted to hide how much the car is lowered. Think about it, if you raise the coilovers and install the over-fenders at a lower position.. you cannot judge by wheel-gap, you can only judge by measuring the amount the actual vehicle has been lowered (frame rails).

Besides, that car uses pretty high-end coilovers which have adjustable perch and lower mount, so that you can compress the coilover AND lower the shock absorber -- this brings the car lower to the ground but does not effect suspension travel as bad.
