since when are cars supposed to look SLAMMED? The lower you go the less suspension travel you have, what good is that? If you ask me, his car looks fine considering he is not running coilovers.
Run coilovers then lower it till you have no suspension travel. ha Quote:

Lowering a car excessively with springs alone is not good. The spring works hand-in-hand with the shock absorber, that is why you have to make sure to use a set that has been designed to work together. High performance shocks usually work well with lowering springs. However, you can only lower to certain extend before you lose suspension travel and you lose performance... trust me, riding on bump stops is NOT good.
The red 240SX with the over-fenders cannot be compared, the over-fenders can easily be mounted to hide how much the car is lowered. Think about it, if you raise the coilovers and install the over-fenders at a lower position.. you cannot judge by wheel-gap, you can only judge by measuring the amount the actual vehicle has been lowered (frame rails). Besides, that car uses pretty high-end coilovers which have adjustable perch and lower mount, so that you can compress the coilover AND lower the shock absorber -- this brings the car lower to the ground but does not effect suspension travel as bad. - Mike |
