Cool Finished: Fujimi Civic Type R show car.

This is Fujimi's Civic Type R painted in TS Candy Lime and TS 16 Yellow/black interior. The black graphic and dash decals are from the SMS Tuner Series Integra set, the wheels are Fujimi Versus 18" painted black/yellow. I lowered the car just a little by glueing the wheel on in a lower position, the front spoiler is from the parts box. The brakes are XS Tuning, the exhaust tip was cut from aluminum tubing. I made the grill piece from sheet styrene and did the Alclad tinting to the rear and rear side windows. The Apex decals are from the TRD Altezza kit.
This car has many coats of paint on it because I first painted it black, here is what is still on this body:
2 coats gray primer
2 coats black
2 coats clear
Then I hit it with 3600 polishing cloth and:
2 coats white primer
2 coats Candy Lime
3 coats clear That's right 13 coats of paint are on this car.

Looks great, man! Very impressive. And the fact that so many coats don't spoil the look of the model is a testimony to your painting technique!

Gonna have to do try that Alcad tinting technique, thats a great discovery. Have to say that i really dont like that front diffuser type thing.

Thanks all! I knew some points of this car would recieve mixed reviews, the exhaust tip is a little longer than you usually see, can be shortened easy enough. The spoiler, I have no idea what it came from , you could be right. Looking at the car from certain angles, the front spoiler blends well with the rear one, some angles not.

Very striking car! Excellent work

May I ask what the purpose of the grey/black/clear coats were?

No magic here, I was originally going to leave it black and changed my mind. It was going to be more stock with just a wheel change, then the Tuner bug bit me again.
