X-box doesn't suck compared to the PS2 they are basically the same. As for the game GT3 coming out for X-box it might be true but I highly doubt it. Sony is the only one that has come out with GT games, but I also heard that X-Box will be getting the rights to GT but I think the game will be GT4.

Gamers may still be weighing in on the console war with their thoughts, feelings, and wallets, but to several investment and industry analysts, the third-place runner-up has already been crowned: Microsoft's Xbox. The console's slow sales in Europe and its problematic launch in Japan have caused analysts to doubt whether the machine can compete against the PlayStation 2 and GameCube--and some have bluntly slammed its chances for survival.

Microsoft announced its intention to sell between 4.5 and 6 million Xboxes worldwide by the end of June. The American launch went well and sales were strong for the holiday season, landing the machine firmly in second place behind Sony's PlayStation 2. But the initial 250,000 machines sent to Japan had not yet sold after the first full month, and in Europe, the price had already been slashed to 299 euros by mid-April--which knocks roughly a third off the original price just six weeks after its launch. "We're very pleased with all the launches in all three regions of the world," said Microsoft in a statement, shortly before reducing its sales goals to 3.5 to 4 million. A few days later, Seamus Blackley, "they father of the Xbox," resigned from Microsoft after a three year tenure; a spokesman said that he left "to pursue other opportunities." Many credit Blackley's renegade spirit and enthusiasm for gaming as the reasons Microsoft entered the console gaming business in the first place.

As an American company entering the home turf of gaming giants like Nintendo and Sony, the Xbox's Japanese launch was always expected to be a challenge, especially since therere was not a lot of launch software specific to the Japanese market's taste. "Japan is...probably a little behind where we want to be on the hardware side," said Robbie Bach, Microsoft's chief Xbox officer, to Reuters. "Bit we always expected things would be tough. Microsoft has demonstrated patience and persistence there before, and I think we will do very well."

Japanese analysts were decidedly less optimistic. "It's a certainty that the Xbox isn't a threat anymore to Sony's PlayStation 2," said Toshiyuki Fukushima, a manager at Sumisei Global Investment Trust Management Company, in an interview with Bloomberg. Makoto Suzuki, a manager with Chuo Mitsui Asset Management Company, told Bloomberg much the same thing: "Investors already think the Xbox is irrelevant in the Japanese market. Sony is now the maker of choice among owners of home-use game consoles."

American analysts, however, have a much sunnier outlook citing Microsoft's deep pockets and pointing toward this year's holiday season as a more crucial window. "Frankly, I don't think investors are that concerned," said Prudential's John McPeake to Reuters. "Most of the concern is around the Japanese market, and that was always going to be the toughest market. As the games come out, it will get more traction." Matt Rosoff, an analyst with Directions on Microsoft, agreed in his comments to Reuters. "Even if sales don't meet expectatations, as long as they are close and as long as they have a reasonable installed base one year after the Xbox has launched, it has a chance of being a successful product. [Microsoft is] not going to abandon the Xbox after one year or two years, or maybe even five years."

The XBox is the one that sucks, because they had to lower the price of it because people weren't buying them. Sure it might have better graphics but can you make it into a computer? All you PS2 haters better shut up. PS2 is tight. They got games that some of the other platforms don't. The only other system that you can play a PS2 game on is Game Boy Advance and it isn't even a racing game.

If they hate the PS2 then that's there choice all system in a true gamers eyes are the same. It's a system that runs videogames that you can challenge the skills you have. PS2 X-Box game cube and all of the other ones are fun and exciting. The people that are going against any system you are allowed to express your opinion but don't keep running them all down. Yeah some systems have there problems but you don't need to keep complaining about them.

Xbox wont even come CLOSE to getting GT3 on the console, it's just for us sony gamers. Even if it did it wuldnt matter ps2 has so much more games to offer and personally id rather spend money on a console that has GAMES rather than one that has all fancy hi-tech rubbish that dusnt have anything to offer. Look at how many exclusive and brilliant games PS2 has to make it unique - not only GT3 AND GT4, But the Grand theft auto's, Metal Gear solid 2 ect. wuldnt you rather play some of these games that have great gameplay and entertainment (and thats REALLY what counts, not fancy things) on PS2 rather than games on Xbox that have better graphics but are quite honestly a pile of crud?

Oh and XBox is made by microsoft, it's basicly a COMPUTER. what's the point of buying that if you can just go into ur study or wherever ur computer is and just play on that? I heard on the news a while ago that Xbox prices got lowered by a mile and hardly anyone was buying it, Microsoft are still desperate for their X-box's to be sold today.

Sir, if you think the GT series is coming to Xbox you are wrong. Sony is in charge of the series itself. I beleive you have been caught on lis. I advise and watch what you post. Most members here are not stupid.

If you think the X-Box rules so much then why does it quit on you when you play it straight for 24 hours or more. I found this out by playing it at my friends house. We played PGR2 from day to night. That moring it shut off and didn't work. He had to get it replaced.

As for the PS2, I think the current models out are very accurate in dependance. The SCPH-50001 model is faster than you previous first models and its quieter.

But after the Sony Playstation 2 still classifies the X-Box as an Outcast. 91% of the world has a PS2, about 9% own a X-box. Well, those aren't accurate results, but I think it does. Plus, look at the X-box, it has to be that large just to produce good graphics. I mean graphics are not the best thing, you want gameplay. If a game has bad graphics, doesn't mean the gameplay is the best in the world. I've settled my point.
