If you actually do build a car this fast you should try not driving like a 16 year old. 900 RWHP on any tire on the street will spin past 100 MPH.

yeah Thats the one thing i'm worried about. I currently live in europe, and the entrance and exit ramps are fairly tight turns. I like the high G force in the turns. I just hope I don't feed it too much power in the turns and spin out. And yeah, i'm fairly young, but I unlike most 16 year olds know how to drive. I knew the heel-toe technique when I was 14, and have driven constanly 2 years before I could legally get my lisence. (don't worry it was on uncrowed roads where no one lived)

Re: Help Me Build My Beast...

LMAO dude, europe??? do you have roads long enough to let a 900hp car stretch its legs??? whats the point? out here i at least have route 66 and the interstate, unless you live next to something close to if not the autobahn, i think this is a recipy for disaster, especially if your a youngster. dont get me wrong, im only 20, and have been driving sence i was like 12, and i would not try to drive a 900hp car down curvy european roads, or at any kind of speed. if you want a fast car, go for somewhere around 400 or maybe 500, more than enough for that area. dont get me wrong, im not trying to rain on your parade, but ive seen way to many camaros wrapped around phone polls. we have three totalled 98-2001 camaros in the back lot that are totalled right now. one with the licence plate "catch dis" getting the picture. i just dont want you to suddenly dissapear from the forum cuz you went and killed yourself. ya know? also id hate to see something bad happen to the car

Re: Help Me Build My Beast...

True that..Dude, I lived in Germany for 3 years. Hell even the autobauhn isn't for a 900hp car. Unless you put two tons worth of cement in the back to keep the rubber planted on the ground I would go with something a lil less powerfull. And damn Iroc, I had no idea you where only 20. And a vette tech assistant. Wow dude that's pretty kick ass.

well I do live close to the german border and yes there are roads around here for it to strech its legs. Hell, there's a 20 km straight near my house that just runs along farmland. and i'm building the car in the states this fall when I move back.

wow 900hp small block and streetable, thats one hefty project, and you want a small block, forced induction is neccesary, ummmm your moving to chicago which is cool, there is a guy in the chicago land area building a twin turbo SBC late C3 corvette and is making over 1000+hp, his website is www.montygwilliams.com, good luck but be prepared for a lot of custom work

I don't think you are grasping the concept of a 900 HP car. I have a friend that has a 1,000 HP 4.4 litre stage II turbo buick that will run Low 8's in the qur mile. I have taken that car down the track and I floored it maybe qtr track and It was unreal after that it was half throttle all the way. It still ran a 10.22. Nothing I would even remotly take on the steet, and his car is streetable. It's not a streetcar but it is licensed and and insured.

Sorry Hypis87 but were you talking to me or someone else, I couldn't tell, but I understand the difference between a street legal car and a streetable car, a streetable car being something you can safely drive on the street, not trying to be an ass just trying to clarify anything that needs to be clarified

I was talking to madyak. Also I'm not trying to put him down. I used to think that 900+ HP could be streetable untill I drove that car end experenced that kind of horsepower. 1/8th throttle and the tires just smoke.

well I think I do know my limits, I know that I can't push this thing on the street. I do realize that I probibally can't push more than 1/2 throttle. Here's what I want in the end. A car that is street legal and runs 9's. Nothing annoys me more than some guy that puts a 16sec car on a trailer and drives to the track. Now somebody that drives a 10sec daily driver, now thats cool.

Takes a lot less than 900 to the ground to get into the 9's pal. 650 to the ground with an auto and a transbrake on radials will take you into the 9's easily. My friend Mustang @ 19 psi put 770 to the wheels on a mustang dyno (850-ish on a dynojet) and in a car with a 3400 pound raceweight it went 8.90 @ 154. 900 to the wheels gets you way past 9's.

Re: Help Me Build My Beast...

lol, well 92RS how old did ya think i was???? just curious, and the vette tech assistant is cuz i dated his step daughter in highschool, and were still best friends, aint networking great

as far as the car, i mean, definatly, what i would do is focus on drivetrain. power is great, but its not really what makes you fast. do your homework, and design the best biting suspention and drivetrain, aka, rear end, trans, converter, driveshaft, springs, shocks, control arms, sway bars, torqe arm, all that, once you optimize the susupension for launching, youd be surprised how little power you need to go fast, 900hp is a bit unreal for the street, i would start at say the 550-600 mark, and make more power as ya need to feel that your not a poser, which im thinking is the real reason you want that monster. dude, a fast car is a fast car, running 11's or even 12's from a daily driven car is very respectable. especially if you built it yourself. so dont worry about being the fastest guy in the continental US aight. im a speed freak too, and i think ill be plenty happy running 10's with my 450-500hp baby. and driving her everyday.
